Pollenca - Mallorca Island Map 8.1

Port de Pollença is the main settlement in the municipality of Pollença. Although it has grown considerably in the last few years, it retains the tranquil atmosphere of a summer resort, particularly on the seafront itself, which is unusually calm and peaceful.
From Port de Pollença or U Port, as it is known by its inhabitants, many excursions can be made on foot, by boat or by car. A number of well-known personalities have decided to make this tourist resort their second home. To amble along the promenade beside the yacht club mJkes ,lnd excellent excursions in itself. Agatha Christie chose Port de Pollença as the setting for her short story

"A problem in Pollença". Subsequently, she described it as " a view, which in the mist of that beautiful morning shimmered exquisitely like a Japanese print".

From Port de Pollença it is not far to Formentor and Cala Murta, where a day of celebration in honour of the poet Miquel Costa i Llobera is held. In Pollença, five kilometres from the port, there are many interesting things to be seen. Just outside the main part of the town stands a very well-preserved Roman bridge, and from the steps of the Stations of the Cross or Puig de Maria there are excellent views across the bays of Pollença and Alcúdia.
