Cala Deia |
This is a rocky beach of sand and shingle, often visited by famous personalities who live in the area.
The water is clear and the beach is 40 metres long by l5 metres wide. Like the other beaches in the Serra de Tramuntana, it shelves considerably (8%). Cala Deia is an attractive spot for sailors on account of its beauty, but it is not a reliable place to drop anchor at night. The bottom of rock and sand is not very safe. It is advisable to anchor opposite the small quay at a depth of five metres. Not far from the beach there is a sunken rock two and a half metres below the surface. The north winds make it a dangerous spot. Boats carrying tourists from Port Soller reach Cala Deia and sa Foradada. |
