S'Illot - Mallorca Island Map 12.8

The stream of n'Amer, the last stretch of which is flooded, separates s'Illot into two and is also the municipal boundary between the municipal areas of Manacor and Sant Llorenç des Cardassar. S'Illot is not only a hotel area; it has many, one storey houses and is the second residence of residents from inland, especially from Vilafranca, Manacor, Sant Joan and Sant Llorenç.

Although many houses were built towards the end of the forties, it was not until the fifties that the first hotel was opened in this area. The owner, Pere Caldentey, was goalkeeper for Barcelona FC between 1952 and 1955.

The bars and restaurants on the seafront are busy all day, especially during the evening and at night. The beach is frequented by the owners of the houses belonging to the development and the tourists staying at the few hotels in the area.

S'Illot

S’Illot beach is very busy, there is an islet in from which the area takes its name. It is also known as the beach of sa Mareia. 280 metres long and 55 wide, it is a family beach offering water sports such as surfing, or rides along the shore on pedalos. Being quite flat, it is ideal for the youngest members of the family. Beach umbrellas and sunbeds can be rented here.
