Sant Elm - Mallorca Island Map 0.7

38 km from Palma and 8 km from Andratx, Sant Elm is the westernmost beach on Majorca and the largest within the municipality of Andratx. The little island of es Pantaleu protects this stretch of coastline. Sant Elm is the natural point of departure for sa Dragonera and La Trapa. Organised trips leave the town to go to the nature reserve. The golondrina boats that come from the tourist resorts of Calvia and even Port de Soller also stop here.

To reach Sant Elm, the road comes through s' Arracó. By boat, it is near
Port d' Andratx, skirting the coast via Punta Galinda, Cala en Tio, Cap Falcons, Cala d'Egos Iosep Pia made the trip by boat between Port d' Andratx and Sant Elm, on the way to sa Dragonera. "Following a wild coastline, two long miles from the port of Andratx, past cliffs of jagged rock, headlands and small inlets, such as Cala d'Egos and Cala d'en Tió, we come to the Punta del Mora, which marks the opening to the inlet of es Pantaleu.

The coastline is high and uneven, until the beaches of Sant Elm come into view, opposite which lies the island of es Pantaleu, the first landing-point of the conquerors in their Majorcan campaign. Together with the beach and an ancient sandbar, the island forms a small area of anchorage for local sailors, which is protected from all the winds, save those of the third quadrant. The inlet is closed to the north by Punta de la Rebassada and the island of sa Dragonera."
