A resort just perfect for a relaxed, sun-drenched holiday; 13kms of warm white sand, a sparkling blue sea just begging you to take a dip, and laid back cafe bars tempting you with a selection of tapas (small dishes typical in Spain).

This small fishing village has blossomed into a popular resort without losing any of its charm and even manages to give a feeling of exclusivity. The modern marina is packed to the gills with expensive yachts, the restaurants offer quality menu’s and the hotels are tasteful in design.

A sweep of silky white sand announces you’ve found the resorts beach! Set in a horseshoe bay it’s perfect for the kids to splash around safely whilst the adults can indulge in the water sports on offer. Backed by a promenade the beach has good facilities, a selection of beach bars and stretches along the length of the resort – so where-ever you stay you won’t be far from it!

Fairly quiet and laidback with enough bars and restaurants to try a different one each night. Families can find plenty for the kids to do and if you feel like a livelier night then you have the option of nipping to nearby Alcudia.

Who goes there:

This resort suits everyone bar those looking for full on partying. It’s very popular with families in high season and has been a favourite with German tourists for many years.

Everything from 5* hotels to budget apartments and there’s also a small selection of rental properties.

What to do:

  • If you have the ‘need for speed’ then head over to the karting track for a fun day out. Look out for the free courtesy bus.
  • Our favourite is El Laberinto in nearby playa de Muro; www.amazenlaberintos.com if you loves running round in circles this is the place to be!
  • Have a splash-tastic day out at the Hydro Waterpark: www.hidropark.com where you can swim, slide and sunbathe to your hearts content.

The Festival of the Ducks is unique to the resort and many 1000’s descend on it to take part in the annual mayhem. It is quite controversial as it is banned by the Mallorca Govt and each year it is held the resort pays a hefty fine. It involves 350 ducks being taken by boat to the sea and then released. 100’s of people then dive in to try and capture a duck, which hopefully is released safely afterwards.

Psst! At Son Baulo, a very pretty resort only a short distance away, you will find the prehistorical burial ground Son Real Necropolis only 20 mins walk from the beach...now who would have thought that!
