S’Arenal d’en Casat - See Map
North - Santa Margalida, Mallorca

Situated at 2kms from Can Picafort this wild and wonderful beach belongs to a designated area of National Interest.

Located between Punta Llarga de Son Real and Punta des Patró it’s also known as Ses Assussenes which means iris in English because of the profusion of pretty white flowers that carpet the scrubland along this coast. The sandy beach is backed by dunes and a large pine forest called Son Real and in the surrounding area there are a couple of ancient sites such as the Necrópolis de Son Real and Illa des Porros which may interest the history buffs.

Facilities: none.

Anchoring: Excellent. The depth is 2,3m at 1.5 hectometres from the coast.

How to get there: best by foot following the track from Son Baulo which is a wonderful 1.5km walk, great in the cooler months, passing by Na Patana. Or park on the Alcudia - Arta road near Finca Son Real (old farmhouse) where a trail leads down to the beach. A 4wd would get you there (from the nearby beach of Es Dolc) but it would be a shame to spoil the virgin environment.

Access: by foot or boat
