A truly spectacular setting must make this the most dramatically situated beach on the island.
Reachable by both car and boat it is worth the hair-raising drive to the small picturesque port from where you walk through a tunnel to this completely natural beach.
Formed at the head of a Ravine, water still flows down here from the mountains which surround it, so the beach is inaccessible in stormy weather. The Ravine with its steep sides adds drama to the setting.
Experienced hikers can navigate along its length and the journey takes around 4 hours but it is difficult terrain. Day visitors will be happier just exploring the nearby area and swimming in the wonderfully turquoise waters.
Psst! There’s a choir concert held here each summer because of the excellent accoustics. Keep your eyes open for poster advertising the event.
Facilities: can be found only at the small port area. The beach itself is kept natural.
Anchoring: Not recommended
How to get there: by car following the signs. The road down is steep with dramatic hairpin bends...so it’s not for the faint-hearted. To help minimise stress the tour buses that call there only return in the afternoon. Limited parking at the port.
By boat; leaving regularly from Puerto Soller harbour.
Access: by path around the base of the cliffs. No disabled access currently.
