Cala Mesquida - See Map
North - Capdepera, Mallorca
Even though this beach is quite popular we felt it was too beautiful not to be mentioned. 7 kms from Capdepera it is situated in an area of outstanding beauty.
The soft sand stretches between two rocky areas and then reaches back over seemingly endless sand dunes. On the righthand side, which is completely unspoilt, you reach Cala Agulla, passing Cap des Freu which has one of the largest cormorant and seagull colonies of the Balearic archipelago.
On the left side there is a residential and tourist village built in the 70’s.
It’s a very popular beach but due to its size it is never too crowded.
When the wind blows from the north the swell grows and large waves crash on the beach; not good for swimming but ideal for windsurfing but do be careful...amateurs should make sure they're fully aware of the conditions.
Facilities: Excellent; sun lounger hire, cafes, watersports, showers and toilets
Anchoring: not recommended there are also some dangerous sea currents from the channel of Minorca, which make anchoring boats too difficult.
How to get there: Follow the signs from Capdepera and park in the designated areas.
Access: on foot from the parking area
