These are 3 beaches that are fairly close together and have similar characteristics. All have a sweep of golden sand in a natural setting backed by pine trees and leading down to crystal clear water.

Two are of a similar size (approx: 30mtrs by 20mtrs) with the smallest, which is also an official nudist beach, being Port Vells II at only 5mtrs wide. All have safe swimming, and rocks to explore if you enjoy snorkelling and at Port Vells I (known also as Sa Caleta) you can discover an old sandstone quarry originally used to provide the blocks for Palma Cathedral.
Port Vells II is also known as El Mago because it was used as a filmset in 1967 for a film of the same name starring Anthony Quinn and Michael Caine. Interestingly there’re still some bits of the set on the sandy area between two beaches. This film was supposed to be filmed in Greece, but since there was the coup of the colonels was staged, it was set in Majorca.
Port Vells I is the busiest of the three beaches with the other two being quiet even in high season.

Facilities: at Port Vells I & II sun bed hire, toilets and beach bars. Port Vells III is more natural but does have a beach bar

Anchoring: good for all three and close to the Nautical Club at Portal Vells

How to get there: Port Vells I (also known as Sa Caleta) - by car is easy following the signs until you reach Sa Platgeta des Portals Vells (or the beach of Portals Vell). Park here and then walk a short distance to the beach.

Port Vells II (also known as El Mago) - by car is following the signs. You can park close to the beach

Port Vells III (also known as Platja de Rey) - by car the signs. Park by the path that leads, after a short walk, to the beach.

Access: Easy access via good paths. Only Port Vells III doesn’t have disabled access
